My first posting - ever! I stumbled across this site looking for info on my GPS which fails everytime I drive past Wyong. Seems I'm not the only one... but still - glad I found this webiste.

Got a new R36 in January. I love it. A couple of issues, have done 16,000k's already but otherwise brilliant and haven't had a car I was happier to do so many k's in. The upside of the GPS failure - which failed totally last week - I'm waiting for a whole new stereo/GPS unit - is that now all I have to listen to when I drive, is the car. That is actually no bad thing at all

    thanks for the site.

    cheers

      • Hi everyone, been driving around for awhile in my v5 bora until an idiot didn't give way as he was turning right.

Long story short, the car got fixed by Euro Style here in melbourne but they lost a button on my Eurovox Gamma head unit...arrrgh. Apparently i have to contact Eurovox but i though someone out there may have a stock Gamma head unit sitting around feeling sorry for itself whilst you're rolling with the newer aftermarkets...please let me know. I like to keep mine happy (and everything original), so will take yours for a fee!

                Hi all,

I have just sold my MX5 and I'm seriously looking at buying a new Golf GTI.

However, I've been advised to wait for the release of the GTD.

Does any one know how the two compare in peformance etc?

                Any help would be appreciated.

                        • Greeting from Sydney

                          Hey everyone!
Waited couple of months for Scirocco, but finally felt that it will never make it here so last week I ordered my first ever car. A sliver 118TSI with DSG, Sat Nav and the sport package and hopefully gonna get it by next Saturday.

From yesterday, I am having doubt over the black sport cloth which i ordered!! But I am not sure why and just wondering If anyone would be kind enough to upload couple of pictures before I head to VW in Mascot to look at it again! Or any advice?

                          • New Skoda Octavia coming next week

                            G'Day everyone!
I'm from Melbourne (south east region), and previously owned a 1999 VW Passat (2.8 V6) station wagon.
Have recently bought a new Skoda Octavia 1.8 tsi DSG wagon, which I should receive next week.

I really need to know from other Skoda owners, if the aftermarket Kufatec 'basic-plus' integrated bluetooth system has any issues.

Speaking to my dealer who doesn't fit the unit, he mentioned that Skoda head-office doesn't recommend the Kufatec as they can be problematic.

                            Any ideas?

                            • White Octavia RS Wagon - Has Arrived

                              Hi all,

I just had my Octavia RS 2.0 CRD, DSG Wagon delivered - White, Xenon Lights, Front Parking Sensors, Leather Trim, Dark Tinted Windows, Rubber Boot Mat, Factory Bluetooth and MDI. I also got paint protection, which has turned out better than I first thought.

Prior to this I owned a Commodore, which all up was great, but I wanted a Wagon that was diesel and had a bit of grunt, while at the same time being economical. This car really fits the bill. I've just fitted the two baby seats in the back and the boot handles shopping and prams with ease.

I bought it from Steve Javin Motors in Burwood. I really can recommend Greg Case, he did a great job with the order and fitting out the car for me. I did have to wait over 4 months to get it, but it was all worth it; driving the Skoda is great!

                              • extra newbie

Just put a desposit down for 90TSI manual vw golf (reflex silver) with tinted windows ($25300.00) no more to pay. Better than my corporate discount with the NSW law society!

Dealt with David Crott from Bill Buckle in Brookvale and he was FANTASTIC!

My advice is to never deal with Barloworld in MASCOT and FIVE DOCK. Mascot lied to me over the phone about stock and then hung up when I told her i knew she was lying. Five dock provided me with inconsistent information as to whether or not they even had a car in stock (even though i had already gave them my credit card to take the deposit)!

So if you're thinking of buying a Golf and live in Sydney i would recommend David from Bill Buckle or Michael Humpries from Chatswood Classic Cars. Both men were wonderful despite the fact that i rocked up to their dealership in gum boots!
