Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just sold my big Patrol Ute so i can get into something a little more wallet friendly for the occasional trip down to Briz. Looking at a few Mk6 R's. Still deciding between manual and DSG.

Picking up my R tomorrow. Got a decent length drive home so i feel a few twisty hilly roads may be in order. Can't wait!!

        Hey mate,

Nice choice of car! Both transmissions are great - however i don't think you can go past the ruthlessly quick shifts and that infamous burble of a DSG!

Be sure to post up some photos

DSG is lightning quick! even more when youve had a DSG tune done! i bought a manual, purely because i went from an EVO 8 to the R
          15 Golf R MK7
          Manual
          APR Tuned

Ended up with the DSG. The clutch in the manual put me off with the long, vague throw. Gotta love that DSG burp too.

Haven't got a decent pic yet but will post it up when i get around to it.

Went up through Nebo, Somerset, Montville on the way home and had a blast. Such a fun little thing to flick around.
