Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hi Everyone!

    So I'm new here- looking to ask some experts about VW reliability before hunting for a used (but not too used Polo). Had a 2005 Polo for years with zero issues (apart from the freaky noise going over bumps when it's cold...) and wanted to know if they're still pretty much hassle free. And what sorts of things to look for when interrogating someone's too-good-to-be-true deal...

    I guess I've enjoyed VWs since bumping around in the back of my grandparents' 52 beetle- but my god I cannot drive the thing at all now.
