Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi all

Will be adding a 2012 MkVI gti to the family daily drivers soon. Couple of mates have some gti's so we thought lets see what all this fuss is about. As you can tell from name, current cars in garage are subarus, so this should be interesting. Hobby detailer so im looking forward to having a go and cleaning her up and posting some pics soon.

collected car on friday. needless to say I knew the long weekend would come in handy to start a thorough detail. Leather was way to shiny with body oils so interior got full steam treatment to get it nice and matte. then applied leather protection, vinyl and carpet protection.

exhaust tips had the most carbon build up ive ever seen on a car. I actually thought they were matte black. Here are some before and afters.

Wheels needed some major attention and barrels were coated in baked on brake dust. 1z colourtec doing its thing

        finished and clean

        Nice snow foam wash

finished for now. Paint correction and coating when i have some more time

Cheers Paul. Have a few cars on the waiting list including another weekend needed to do the paint correction and coating or sealant on this one.
