  • Newbie from Mexico city

Hi all. I'm the proud owner of a red 2015 DSG MK7 GTI, leather seats and light package. A VW has been in the family since I have a memory (from the classic beetle to my little baby). I'll tell you how I got her if you have the patience to read the whole soap opera.

By march 2014 I've made my mind to change my ride, so at that moment, the best choice seemed to be a Mazda 3 ST, mainly because of the price (i'm not a fan of credit/leasing, only what you can get with what you have) and the new line of VW was not available yet here. So I got the car and happily ride it...for a month or so. It starting having all kinds of sounds, brake screeching, very rough ride, computer and infotainment errors...you name it, I had it. So after 4 consecutive 1-2 weeks dealer stops, I've had it, and began climbing the corporate ladder. Long story short, I ended with the Mazda line director, which at that point (after months of bad customer service and crappy car), just said " I know everything that has happened, and I apologize for everything you've been put through. What can I do to help you?". Of course my immediate response was "keep the car and get me a new one, but not a Mazda". Surprisingly and without hesitation, he agreed and asked me what car I wanted. I asked for a VW new line Jetta (don't know if you guys have it) with at least the same things I had in the Mazda. By this time (october) the MK7 had arrived and was flying of the dealers. After a couple of weeks and online investigation, I changed my mind and asked for a MK7 golf, they agreed again to the change. By november they reached me again, with a list of possible cars they had, but none of them pleased me. The second week of december I received a call from the director, telling me that they had 3 cars for me, just to choose which one I wanted. When I saw the list, lo and behold, my baby was listed at the bottom, with a very hefty discount...so it was a no brainer. I just took the deal and finally reached my arms the 31 of december.

So far I've changed the mats for the all weather ones, TSW Nurburgring 17 gunmetal wheels, and bought (not installed) the motorized side mirrors and soumatrix xtase speakers. I'm anxious to see if we can retrofit the MIB2 in our cars. I have my VCDS cable, but haven't had the time to do anything besides the mats.

    Cheers everyone.

That's quite the story! Good to hear that Mazda came to the party and agreed to replace your car with something better of your choice! That's the sort of customer service we could only dream of here in Australia...
