  • VIC Mk4 - never owned Vw before

Hi All, found the forums doing some
Suspension research. I currently drive a Evo X which is now a little past being a suitable daily driver. It makes 500whp and gets an unimpressive
12l/100kms on the hwy. I've bought a mk4 to do the daily run and am in the middle of collecting parts to make it more suited to my needs. I've found the front end a little "loose" for
My liking and am in the process
Of trying to track down some heavy duty but still stock height springs.

    Welcome.
Front end will most likely need some fresh suspension components like control arm bushes, tie rods, strut top bushes and bearings, maybe end links, sway bar bushes and ball joints too. these are all pretty tired on the mk4s now unless they have been replaced before.
wasnt a whole heap in the way of 'firm' spring or shock options from factory.
H&R, eibach, bilstein did some decent upgrades without much of a drop. otherwise check out coilover options to firm it up

Adding a rear sway bar (anti roll bar) makes a big improvement to any front wheel drive car. Cures that loose front end feel but make sure all the bushes in the front end are in good condition.
