G'day everyone. Firstly I'd like to thank you all for helping me decide that a Golf was the way for me to go. I picked up a 103TSI hatch almost 2 weeks ago now (I'm absolutely wrapped with it by the way) and was washing it on the weekend. As I inspected every inch of my new pride and joy I found pinholes in the roof channel, where the roof skin joins the side panel. I went to my dealer to look at the other vehicles there and found one other Golf with the same thing going on. The manager said they would happily get it repaired but I work for a dealership (not Volkswagen) and am not keen on a respray on a brand new car. My question is: Has anyone else come across this issue and if so, what did you do?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

They look like the weld marks where the roof skin is attached. I would get a magnifine glass and check if the paint covers the metal and if so i would leave as spraying a new car makes it look like its had an accident.2011 T5 Mulitivan Comfortline 103kw ,2009 Golf Tdi Comfortline 103kw,2005 Golf Mk5 GTI Stage 1 220BHP (UK),2004 Golf GT TDI 140BHP (UK),1995 Golf Mk3 GTI 120BHP (UK), 1980 Escort Mk2 RS2000(South African), 1980 Opel GTE 148Kw (South African), 1979 Golf Mk1.

Thanks fransnz. Probably not the best picture since I took it in the dark but it gives you the idea. I told VW there is no way anyone's going near it with paint as I've seen too many jobs go wrong. The crash shop at work said they can treat them like stone chips and fill them with touch up and you'd never know. Not that they think it's anything to worry about. Might go down that track.2015 Golf # 103TSI Highline # Stock # VW Knows Best
