  • QLD Newbie - Skoda Octavia 09 Wagon 1.8 TSI

    Hi Guys

Bought my 09 Octavia 1.8 TSI wagon about 18 months ago and it has been a joy to ride. I work as a building inspector so during the course of 18 months, I have probably averaged around 650kms a week on the car. Which is why I bought it due to its fuel efficiency. I bought it with 69K on the ODO and now it reads somewhere around the 120K mark. The only downside since then is the slight loss in fuel efficiency, a flutter/slight vibration when in fourth gear going to fifth, and getting crappy customer service at Brisbane Prestige Bowen Hills. Hence why I have joined this forum, I'm looking for a recommended mechanic on the North Side of Brisbane.

    Cheers

The vibration might be the early signs of a failing Dual Mass Flywheel

The loss of economy is probably the inlet valves being coked / carboned up.
