Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Looked like a pretty informative site from trolling the net so i thought i'd give it a go.Just bought a 91 mk2 Golf convertible at auction for $110 dollars, i've always liked the look of the Golf .I wanted something different to play with so i bid and won (told the missus it was a quick flip).I'm here to pick peoples brains cause it needs a few things fixing ,starting with the clutch.

ok, so on further investigation it seems that my Golf is actually a Mk2, not a Mk1 as i first thought ,am i correct with this if the build date says 1990?
What is the recommended workshop manual for this ,any help would be tops!

VW never made a MK2 convertable so you've got a MK1 Cabrolet or Cabby for short.

Put up a post (with pix of your car please) in the MK1 section. There's heaps of guys with Cabbys who can help.

      Cheers
