  • NSW Hi from a hopefully soon to be Octavia RS owner.

    Hi everyone,

I am Benj in Sydney and hopefully soon I will be a Octavia RS owner.
I have never owned a Skoda or any VAG car. Previous cars have been a 1981 Volvo 265GLE and current car is a 2004 Magna VRX.
A friend who owns a Octavia RS ii and really loves it got me interested into looking into Skodas and the RS. The more I read about them the more I realise they seem like a great allrounder package.

Currently I am looking around to see if there is anything around that matches my ideal spec of:
    Octavia RS 162tsi DSG Wagon
    Race Blue (or Metal Grey)
    Tech pack
    18" Black pack

Of course it looks like I am being extremely wishful but got to try, otherwise I will have to look at placing a factory order and enduring an agonising wait!

265? That's some legit Volvo! I have some rellos who Rw all bat**** crazy Volvo fans from way back. Make for great paddock bashers when they go out to pasture.
RS will be a departure from 80s Volvo World in many respects

        Hi Benj

There are a lot of them advertised on carsales.com, am sure you would be able to find what you are looking for with out having to wait. I would also suggest you don't discount the TDI as it is more economical and is pretty fast in real world driving.

        Best of Luck

Certainly don't discount the TDI,particularly if you do any amount of distance driving.I bought a VRS TDI sedan for my wife and regard it as not only an outstanding vehicle on the highway but fantastic value for money.
Certainly has plenty of grunt in town and on the open road;comfortable, excellent ergonomics, economy.Roughly 1000k range per tank of diesel.
Normal DSG mode is sedate and comfortable;sportsmode holds the DSG in gear to much higher revs and is quite sporty and in conjunction with the paddle shifts make for a car which can adjust immediately to all circumstances.
Very flexible motor which is an infinitely responsive donk to drive in all circumstances.
          I also fully expect longevity.
          Recommend it!
