Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MK1 Cabby Gal Melbourne

    Hi all,

I'm a melbourne based newb who just acquired a 1993 MK1 Cabby. I've never driven a VW before, or even a small car. I've always had old Fords so I'm loving the change of pace. I lurked in these forums for a while before I bought the clipper and found a lot of good info. Looking forward to chatting with you all!

    Welcome!

I bought my mk1 4 months ago and already know more about cars than I ever thought I would. They may be old and noisy, but nothing is as fun as these little go karts can be.

Congratulations on the best vehicular purchase you might ever make

Make sure to bring it down to Garage Cafe in Carlton when the monthly meets are on Some lads from various VAG forums (Volkswagon and Audi Group) do meets + cruises every Friday night, usually ending up at HWY (over 1000 cars meet every Friday night, supervised by police but with some tolerable hooning allowed). There is one this Friday and a JDM/Euro meet on Sunday.

Go join these groups if you ever need to ask questions or want to go for a drive with other enthusiasts.

Thanks! I will come down for sure. Just as soon as I get my roadworthy happening! My mechanic doesn't like the wide wheels the last owner put on it. Real shame because they are sweeeet.
