Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW New to Skoda, not to VAG

    Hi everyone,

Looks like a great place. Have to admit I did some research in here before choosing my next car. I'm Irish, moved to Oz in 2008, Sydney's Northern Beaches. Ride a 2010 Suzuki Hayabusa on the road, a GSXR750 on the track. Big fan of VW's going way back. Had a 2002 MkIV Golf Anniversary Edition GTi (#1783) for 5 years and a 2003 Bora Sport V6 4Motion for 3 years when I arrived here. Since then, I've had company cars; Commodore, Forester, Outback. Now I've just ordered my first Skoda - Octavia RS wagon, 162TSi Corrida Red, due in March.

Ordered from the dealer in Pennant Hills. Good service, gave us back-to-back test drives of about an hour in each of the petrol and diesel wagons. Opted for the petrol as I will have a company-sponsored fuel card. Ordered with the 19" Black Pack, Tech Pack and sunroof.

Am currently waiting for details from the dealer about a towbar and 'tow ready'. I would like the removable swan-neck one, available in Europe, for the clean look once it's removed; just not sure if I can get it here.

    Thanks,

    Ben
