Getting a Tiguan (hopefully)!

Hi all,

I've been an avid reader here for a while, getting up to speed on the Tiguan. I've been looking at the 130TDI with the R-Line pack (love driving my wife's 103TDI Golf). The only thing that's putting me off a bit is that VW won't fit a tow bar to the R-Line or a Tiguan with the R-Line pack. Spoke to the guys here that fit the Hayman Reese bars and they weren't sure if they could do one either. The bumper is slightly different on the R-Line and doesn't have the pop out panel underneath the bumper but otherwise looks the same dimension wise. I really need a tow bar for the mountain bikes and the odd trip to the tip on the weekend. Anyway, if I can sort this out I'm ordering ASAP (dealer said that I'd have to wait until Jan to get one - maybe Feb now).

Hi Clarko and welcome to the forum.

I've driven the new 130TDI Tiguan and also from the press write-ups so far this is the one to get.

If you want the R-line pack on a 130TDI you'll have to wait as the initial shipment of MY15 cars the 155 was the only one that was brought in with the body kit.

I'm sure there is a way around the towbar issue. Don't know if there is an option for ordering with a cut-out from the factory or if there is an alternate style hitch you can use.
