Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA G'day from Perth - new Scirocco R owner

    Hi all,

Have been browsing the forum over the last few months to research. What a great resource!
Now the proud owner of a Rising Blue Scirocco R I purchased about a month ago. Really enjoying the car and getting to know some of the great features and driving character of the car.

I was looking for a manual in RB which limited my options a bit as seemed about 80% of available cars on the market for sale were DSG. The Perth market was fairly limited at the time however I found a 6sp manual in the colour I was after at a country NSW VW dealer. It had also been optioned with Sat Nav and had been used by the sales manager for a couple of weeks before being put up for sale as a demo. Price was much better than WA by a fair margin even after transport costs back to WA.

Looking forward to contributing to the forum in the future.

    Cheers,

    welcome aboard.

why not come along to the German Car Day Cruise on Sunday and show the beast off, and meet a few of the locals?

(also very glad you got the manual!!)

      G'day....

Sounds like a great day out....unfortunately I'm on shift work this weekend otherwise would be keen to join in.

Will keep my eyes open for future events though. Thanks!

Looks like you have an RS4. Impressive! I was also considering a TTS at one point but tough to find the right example in a manual as well. More than happy with the Scirocco though.

      Enjoy the cruise on Sunday.

      Cheers,

I think the Rocco is a great choice, quick and practical.

and you won't suffer hairdresser jokes like you would in a TTS LOL
