Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Almost back on the road

    Hi All,
I would just like to introduce myself and my car Ladyfinger.

I have just finished replacing the 1.5D with a 1.6TD that I got in a car from over east.
In the limited runs I have had so far the difference is amazing.

Now that I am getting to the point of having the Lady back on the road I will be getting rid of most of spare parts I have gathered over the last year or so. I will put a post in the classified section as soon as I can figure out how to, but in the mean time if anyone is in WA looking for a either a 4 door MK1 Golf or any spare parts for their existing MK1 let me know.

    Cheers
    Rob

Start a thread in the MK1 section. I'm sure there are lots of people like me who would like to know more about your conversion and how it is to drive. A TD MK1 has always been one of the cars I'd love to own.

    Cheers
