Hi all Just found this forum and thought I'd see what the vag scene is like over there . Am moving to Melbourne in October and planning taking my pride and joy with me to use for work and socialising . Currently have a 2012 natural grey caddy sitting very low on coilovers (will post pics when I figure out how to) and in the middle of doing a vr6 conversion into a mk2 gti sadly the golf won't be coming with me but the van will . Any suggestions where to go or any shows when I get there would be great . Cheers

Sunny Scotland? Worst winter I ever had was a summer I spent holidaying in Scotland. Man it was cold!
The MK2 is pretty rare here, lots of Caddys though. Show scene is nothing like what you have over there. We have a couple of big events (small by your standards) in Sydney and Melbourne each year but expect to do a lot of driving - Melbourne to Sydney is 545 miles. We're used to the distances so usually make a road trip out of it and take some mates.
I once did Glasgow to Manchester in a day - via Loch Ness and Perth. My brother did Manchester to London and back in a day. The car rental company refused to believe anyone would drive that far and only billed him for 100 miles use.
Check out the social pages to see what's going on and welcome to the forum.
Cheers

The thing about removing them for registration and then refitting them is that you leave yourself exposed to being uninsured in the event of an accident. You are not going to have the opportunity to fit the old ones in the event of an accident.

Ok I that it they check that kind of stuff if your stopped 100 mm might be tight better get the tape out and start measuring . Speed bumps are a big pain in the rear end with subframe so might need to try turn coilies up a bit . Will be looking for a nice mk5 r32 golf in blue preferable if anyone knows of any good ones

Also, no part of the wheel or tyre must protrude beyond the bodywork with the front wheels pointing straight ahead and viewed from above. There is conjecture over the wheel nuts/bolts, so to be on the safe side, make sure they are also included.
