Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NZ Family van for our disabled daughter

    Hi
Family of 5 from NZ. Found this forum by googling "vw multivan wheelchair tie downs.

We have recently purchased a 2011 multivan, and I love it. Now need to find a restraint system that fits ino the tracking system so the wheelchair can be secure without the dimwits here drilling holes in the floor.

    Thanks
    Lisa

I remember a thread from a while back talking about wheels chairs in multivans, I don't know that it will help much but it's here:

I have to wonder if there is some way to hack up a set of old seat rails then weld them to a flat plate (with whatever extra hardware you need) so you can then essentially just slide the whole mechanism in and out as needed. Of course this doesn't help with physically getting the chair in or out...

    In any case, welcome!

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
