I found this forum very helpful and decided to join. MK5 MY09 full optioned. I'm trying to find out if my touch screen (sat nav w i-pod Bluetooth) that has a phone button requires a module to make it work. At the present it only serves as a mute button however "Phone" is listed. It will not pair and doesn't appear to be set up for phone...module needed? what is the part required? Is it easy and a DYI or a little tricky?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

If you have the factory RNS510 system then yes, the bluetooth module is a separate unit.
Depending which MFD you have you can install an OEM bluetooth module fairly easily. However it will likely also require the car to be coded correctly with VCDS.
You will need either this unit if you have the full height red MFD,
or this unit if you have the half-height red MFD.
Relatively straight forward to install (even thought the MkV is annoying to remove the head unit with having to pull out a bit more trim than should strictly be the case...)
Refer to this thread for details of forum members who can assist with install and coding.2011 Skoda Octavia vRS TDI DSG wagon|Revo Stage 1|Race Blue|Leather|Dynamic Xenons w 6000K|9w7 BT|THA475 Amp+active sub|Whiteline ALK|RVC|
