Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Greetings all the way from South Africa!!

    Hi guys!!

    Thought I should introduce myself properly... I'm Tony. I stay in a town called Bethlehem all the way in South Africa.

    I own a 2012 (2013 spec) VW Golf mk6 R. It is Candy White in colour and has the DSG gearbox. Bought her brand new in October 2012. Hope I can share some info and learn more around here too!!

    Here is a pic of her. Currently on APR Stage 2+... Will create build thread soon...

    Welcome aboard broer.

    Great car, and great choice in mods as well. What intake you running at the moment?
    It's amazing how deceptively quick these cars are on Stage 2+

      Thanks bud!

      At present I am running the Evolution Motorsports intake. For 2+ I prefer the Evoms cause it comprises a full intake kit that deletes the stock setup. The Carbonio looks nice but don't like the fact that the stock intake piping is used.

      I will however get the Carbonio once I have saved for Stage 3... Cause Stage 3 uses the upgraded MAF and intake piping...

      My build thread will be up soon!

        Hey mate and welcome. Have a look here aswell VWGolf.net.au because alot of the time on this forum they discuss fuel consumption, how to install a light bulb and cardigans instead of mods......

                Good to see you on here to mate.... how's the R going mate? Get that WMI kit in you love so much?

                I'm having big issues with the 207 Hybrid Turbo from Glen.... install went well but damn the tuning is proving hard. Stelios is near ready to give up. I've backed off the actuator 3 full turns to try and control boost - I keep hitting boost cut 22psi.

                Its tamed it for in gear changes.. but if I do a 3rd gear roll on it will still spike and launching in first cases spiking

                Anyway... will battle on... sadly it doesn't feel any faster then stock as we are on the third tune and I think its pretty weak to control boost.

                Anyway,
