Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Yeti newbie

    Hi all

My son had a day off work and as we had finished what was planned
and we were close to the dealer, he decided to look at a Fabia or Octavia for his wife.

Whilst there, I started talking with another one of sales guys about the Yeti
Had looked at the Yeti earlier this year when the wife's Lancer was being serviced
at a multi-franchise dealer and you have nowhere to go and an hour or so to kill
Seemed like a great little car

Anyway, made the fatal mistake of going for a test run. LOL
Bought a Triumph Rocket 3 the same way

Went back 3 days later and placed the order
    Lava Blue
    103TDI DSG
Satnav, leather seats, Off road, Rear sensors
10/11 build with 10 kms on the clock,
Sold as a "Demo", so gets the extre 2 years warranty

$35K drive away (We ARE happy)

It is now having leather seats fitted, so should be ready early next week
Magic car - can't wait to get hold of it

Would also like to thank those on this forum for all the info that you have made available
The sales guy wasn't all that knowledgeable on the Yeti and when you look at the Red Book
you expect to get the turning Xenon headlights as standard equipment
Still not sure about the turning fog lights or the towbar prep ???
Found out about the build code list (in the back ?) on this forum
Will have to wait until I get it to find out what I've got

Currently driving a '94 L/C turbo diesel that only has 177K kms on it
Bought it new and have not had any problems with it at all
problem these days, most of the time it is only me in it
So dragging my pet 2+tonnes of scap iron every where I go gets expensive in terms of fuel
Don't use it much for towing anymore and the towing I do can be done with the Yeti
which will use about half the fuel, not to mention with all that electronic gadgetry

Haven't seen one on the road yet, but probably not looking too hard
Anyway. will do my bit to change that in SEQ
