Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    VIC Newbie with 2004 Touareg

    Hi all

    New to the forum and looking for advice with my wife's 2004 Touareg V6 luxury. we had the car for nearly 6 years with not too much trouble until now. Car has 130,000 k's and we have developed a loud thud when the auto gearbox is changing down. It only started from 5th to 4th gear but it has now moved to 3rd and 2nd as well. I heard this is a software issue or the valve box. Any help and advice would be appreciated. Also placed to get it fixed in southern Melbourne. Called VW and they have not heard of this before.

    Welcome to the forum, it's about time we started seeing some touareg owners around here.

    Have you tried google your symptoms as you may get more info from overseas VW owners with similar problems especially if VW Australia have not heard of it?

    I'm sure a few of the local Melbourne boys will be able to point you in the right direction for getting in looked out.
