Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Just got a mk3 VR6

Hey just moved to Brisbane, bought a 96 Mk3 Golf VR6.

Tidy and goes well, tho already had to fix a few common problems with the heater matrix, alternator and a/c drain. Need to replace the shocks, prob buy a lowering kit.

Congrats mate, your late model silver looks so much better than my early!
Looks straight as and in very good condition!

I'd go straight to coilovers if I were you, PM Lorenz ^^ for options regarding the car.

          GL with it

Thanks guys, living up Holland Park at the moment, just trying to source a decent suspension setup, with good compromise between comfort and handling. I am considering koni yellow/eibach pro setup, tho open to suggestions. Importing from the US seems to be the cheapest option.

Aside from that, 16" BBS's would be nice, as would a BMC cda, extractors/exhaust..
