Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hi All,

    I will be picking up my new Carbon Grey Golf GTI on Wednesday. I am looking forward to posting on here and meeting a few new people as well on the gold coast....

      I will take some tomorrow when I pick it up.

      However I am finding out that its not the same car I asked for. It hasn't come in with the 18" or the sat nav. I am just talking about price or whether I wait

        Both those options can be easily retrofitted in about an hour maximum so i would be demanding they rectify the issues pre-pickup

          they're saying misscommunication. They have knocked off a huge amount of money so I am thinking about just taking it and putting them on myself. I just can't find any detriots for sale

            Tempetyres sells replica's that you could probably source with tyres for about $1.6-2k
            The RNS510 can be sourced form ebay for $999 with free shipping.

              Yeah I saw your other post about RNS510s and I had a look on ebay do they work fine???

                      I am having a look right now. Can you provide any light on the antenna and how it was installed???

                        The antenna is magnetised and just sticks on top of the unit in the tiguan.
                        I believe there is a potential mounting area in teh dash of the GTI.

                        Best bet is to google retrofit rns510 though to get a guide for the GTI.
