Gti Valve Springs

Hi new to this forum
Just had a bad misfire on number 1 cylinder and my inde has just come back to me with its a broken valve spring on the exhaust valve, the car is a early mk5 Gti with DSG
62000ks is there any history of his happening?

mine had EXACTLY the same problem with about 57k on the clock. I had no idea what is was though.. One day, I pushed it HARD and huge misfire brought up a CEL. Turns out cylinder 4 was misfiring. After the fault was cleared, it completely stopped happening (mind you, it was happening for about 10,000km between 4000-5000rpm in 3rd gear).. Now, the car runs like a dream throughout the entire rev range again.
