Hello hello!
I've decided to join the VWW community to show the pride i carry with my car.
It's a 1995 1.9 TDI golf.
From what i know about it, there aren't many of these in Australia (the engine, not mk3s' of course), possibly like 200 (does anyone know the numbers?). My dad bought it 10 years ago and he'd had to go up to Sydney to get it.
But now it is mine, i chose to buy off him because of its rarity and uniqueness. I'm not sure if it's because it's a mk3 or a diesel, but i am just excited by my car! I'm enthused!
So here it is,

A bit high off the ground, the springs will be changed so it will sit more nicely and handle better. At the moment it's like a boat around corners.
Although i want to see this car perform better, i have the thought that, not only am i on my P's, but i should be preserving what this car was given due to it's uncommon engine in Aus. From what i can remember, it hasn't had a big mechanical fault and i know changing something will make it want more maintenance.
I've got time to think about what I'll do with it. Should point out that I'm not a mechanic either (i learn what i can from my brother and dad). but i will tinker with it someday...
I do enjoy multimedia and photo-manipulation, so here is a realistic goal of what i would like to achieve.

And here is something i made earlier, because i could!

Bit too low for me though.
One weekend i joined my brother in the Victorian Volvo club's dyno day where i took the German hatchback into Swedish territory. They are great guys, with some great cars as well. But i was intrigued to what my golf would make.
According to Wikipedia, the TDI 1.9 started out with 66 kW; 89 hp @4000 rpm

I hope you like the the car as much as i do. I think i'll be sticking to owning VW diesels in the future, I've been learning to drive in a 2008 mk5 2.0 TDI Jetta and the amount of power compared to mine just amazes me what we can do in 10 years.
Flat-mango.
