Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SA goodbye beetle, hello VR6!

My "H2o" love affair began when i bought my girlfriend a golf vr6...

For the last two years or so, my daily drive has been a 1970 beetle, wearing a whale-tail kit (with torana tail-lights), deep-dish performance rims and of course, empi parts galore.

last year we decided to get a second car that both my girlfriend and i could drive. Unfortunately, i was told another beetle was out of the question...

I have always had a soft-spot for the golf (my 1st VW was a Mk1, which turned out to be a dud) and after a bit of sweet-talking, we both agreed upon a Mk3 VR6.

I searched for at least 6 months before the right one popped up for sale in S.A, and as soon as it did, we grabbed it!

Its a 1994 golf vr6. Low km's, leather, angel-eyes, crystal fog lights and indicators. Unfortunately, the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to ditch the factory bbs rims and replace em with a cheap set of chrome 17" no-brand wheels

After a few weeks, i started to drive it to work occasionally. A month later, i was driving it every day!

I cant go back to driving a beetle.... I guess i better start looking for another VR6!

my beetle. anyone wanna swap? lol

my 1st golf. 1976 with Mk2 lights and grill and sprinter bodykit (correct me if im wrong...). I loved it, until it started costing me $$$

Is that Eros' old car? He put alot of time and effort into it and he was always asking out for help sorting out the issues, I hope you enjoyed it more than he did!

he fixed ALOT on that car, he spent much time and money on it. He took care of it whilst he had it, he just ran out pf patience for it and just wanted to get back into an RX7 again, I don't blame him for loving the rotors!!!

There is nothing like the brap of a rotor. After selling my first one and going years without I could never sell my current one.
So now I just collect cars. Problem is that I need more garages then bedrooms!
