  • Hi chaps, I'm a mk1 fan

Hello guys, my first post here

    I'm a mk1 nutter and have a '92 mk1 daily driver.
Paint and interior still original, but as for the rest.... slightly not stock
280mm front brakes with mk3 calipers and mk2 rear discs make it stop.
Bilstein on all four corners and rolling on 17's.
Power comes from an 8v 2litre (bored and stroked DX block) with big valves and 280° bump stick.
Delivered to the wheels through an AEN close ratio box with a 3.67 diff.
MP9 EFI donated from a Polo and 2.0 mk3 chip. Loads of torque and lots of fun to drive.
I hope to learn and share useful info with fellow mk1 and VW fans on the forum.

Thanks mate, yep, it's a Citi. Originally a CTi... the Citi equivalent (sort of) of the mk1 GTi

cool az, cept all citi's came out 4 door, not 2 door like the Orig GTI, which is a shame cos the citi would look pretty good 2 door, seems to have some decent strong mods, u got any pics?

Did you import the Golf to Austrlia yourself?

Hi Water Boy, No I am in SA. I joined the forum to share and learn from like minded VW enthusiasts.
I have found some great info here already! Maybe one day if the poo hits the proverbial fan over here
I will make my way to Aus. But if that indeed happens, the car will most likely have to be left behind.

                  Welcome dG

I also have a 92 Citi, which was imported from SA to Australia in about 1998.

What is the best source for parts over there? any particular websites?

Need a bit of a heads up on getting a new grille, front & rear spoilers etc etc

                  Sweet ride too

Hi Scoob, the biggest place to get VW bits is Goldwagen. They have a new website but not sure if you can order online at this time?
Why not drop them an email and ask if they ship to Aus. Their prices are excellent and they carry alot of gear.
