  • NSW SAT NAV aftermarket

Hi, I recently got a new Tiguan. I didnt get the SAT NAV option. But now i find lots of aftermarket SAT NAV on ebay both listed here and overseas.

I would if anyone has got them installed and how are their experience with its purchase, getting installed and overall preformance of the SAT NAV.

OEMPlus are selling the RNS510 unit cheap now.

Alternatives are the AVC9000-1 or the Waywell WD6050 v2.

Zenec are apprently doing the ZE-NC2010 however i cannot find a supplier in australia and no one that i have spoken to has any in stock.

If you need it, i would be going the RNS unit as they can be had for under 2k now.
It provides all the functionality that you could need and has oem support.
Can also be retrofitted by the dealer as an option i believe.

          Sat Nav suppliers and fitters

Hi there. I am also a new user. I have a 2006 Golf GT with the more highly spec'd stereo unit head (not sat nav). I am really happy with the sound of the existing system but would like to replace it with a sat nav unit. By the sound of it its either the RNS unit or the WD6050 unit. You are right there is lots of links here but many links are now old "auspack" link doesnt work now. Can anyone tell me where I can go to buy either of these units (and where to have them fitted as I dont want to do it myself). Is the WD unit ok for sound (close to original OEM?). Thanks every1 and sorry if this info been posted b4 (couldnt find it thru a thread search)

            Re: SAT NAV aftermarket

I would just get the RNS510 straight up from one of the cheap places and save yourself some dramas.

Other good brand aftermarkets would be better than the knock offs if your main focus is audio quality. Not that many to choose from but the eclipse AVN look ok.

USD $2200 plus shipping doesn't seem that cheap?

Ebay is the cheapest but buy at your own risk i guess and check the seller..

Do a search from Tommy Cupra who sells them from the CZ, works out to about 1800-2k delivered.

                    SAT NAV aftermarket in Melbourne

Hi, I'm also a Newbie here, and keen to meet someone in Melbourne who has a Chinese aftermarket Sat Nav fitted, so I could meet up and take a look. (Unfortunately Arctra I'm not in NSW often). A RNS510 from eBay quickly adds up if you also want Bluetooth and MDI (iPod) options added. I was trying to contact Auspack, before I learned that they have closed up. Witson offered me a W2-D723V for about A$500 but I'm worried about getting it working right.

They are doing a bulk buy on vortex.
If they get over 10 people the price drops to $1650 i believe.

yeah i got that model witson and only just got the dam sat nav maps working properly with IGO and some old skool australian map this monday, well sort of. like, 10 mths after purchase, software still not quiet right either.
witson charged me for what i thought was and sd card with working software and ozzie tomtom maps but turn out to be TT navigator 7 (for Windows Mobile) with no map that worked. i managed to find some torrent, patch it and get it working for my long gone water damaged HTC tytn II phone brilliantly but never for the WINCE 5 witson unit. Even spent 99 bucks sucker styles on a tomtom map update going yeh this will work and nah, didnt work (never refunded either). I could write here for hours about it.
I'm planning on putting up a personal review of it when i find some time. i thought is was kinda sad not having that info available out there when i needed help, so might do the hard yard and help a brother out.
I personally find it a decent unit for its price but it leaves a lot to satisfy hanging and seriously wished i had a firmware upgrade way of making it work slightly better.
