Hope you guys will let me stay ??

I've been thinking of a VW for sometime now its one of those cars that grows you on. anyways I'm planning to buy a VW POLO GTI and stick some decent performance mods onto it, or buy a GOLF GTI V and leave it stock - thoughts?

Anyways all the best talk to you'se soon.

    Bruno

Thinking about it now the POLO GTI is so small but not suit me being 6" 5

haha changed your mind in a hour.... plenty of room in the polo as long as you're not a rear seat passenger.

should be able to get a second hand Polo GTI for damn cheap, with all the available mod cons and maybe one with most of the mods done too, i know (flaps??) some sold one on here with ko4, lsd, coilovers, dp, full exhaust,. intercooler, heavy duty clutch for under 25 grand and it heaps more of a monster than any stock Golf GTI V.
That said it's hard to get all the extra power to the ground, can't fit tyers wider than 215s unless you do work to your guards and you will cop **** for driving a polo even from fellow vdubbers (all in jest though...sometimes... just stay away from preeny )

here is where I would talk up the the golf but I don't own one so yeah... its bigger than a polo!

someone else can chim in on the golf pros.

another option get a mk4 R32 and never look back.

      Talking about the Polo GTI:
With the standard turbo I don't have traction issues, but it did take a bit of work to get it handling well. Met up with Desmo yesterday and took him for a spin, he has similar mods but stock Front ARB. After a chip and intake mods, I think the upgraded front sway, added rear sway and front brace make the car tight.

Personally I would not get the Polo if you are looking for more than 130kw atw, but for something relatively cheap, light and fast, its a great car IMO.

      oh yeah, welcome

Test drove one around Wakefield park once... the test drive in a Golf GTI MKV around my block was more impressive

        But thanks for the option!

Thanks bud. I hear the POLO GTI's can be abit of a monster if modded right. What motor does the polo gti have? Same motor as the golf gti mk4?

BTW, I'm 6'1" and have no problems fitting in the car, it is suprisingly roomy for its overall size, but your extra height may have issues in the headroom or clashing with the steering column / dash.

              Spot on.
              They run a 1.8T

With a fiar bit of mod's you can make them into a monster (see Plautos's polo for proof) but you will always have traction issues at higher kw figures.

This is where the golf is more suitable to allow wider ruber and more weight to push on the tyres.
Also the 2.0T has more access to kw from memory.

Does anyone have any great pictures of modded POLO GTI's? Dumped on some nice rims? I am fond of white ones

Would love a Golf though, tough decision. Someone make it simple for me.

                    Woah!

Didn't know this was finished & for sale.

Looks awesome with all the latest mods!

Like how he went to great length's to narrow the rear subframe/control arms to get the rear wheels to tuck into the guards!

Plus all the alloy ducting & intercooler setup.

The smoothed R32 OEM body kit look's heaps better too!

Much nicer car. But thats just me.

Welcome to VWW to Bruno! I'm sure there's plenty of info on both cars you seek!

I don't doubt thats a monster of a car, but thats a lot of cash...
Is the guy who built it a member here?

Here is the best thread i found for Polo photos. Most of them are from Spain and South America, some pretty funny ones, some tacky mods:

Other option is Fuzion's GTI, if it's still for sale... $25k awesome car.

That dude was a member, got banned iirc.

Wow that car is a monster. That's alot of work done to it, can't imagine how much blood and sweat went into it.

Owner is probably better off parting out the car and selling the car in close to stock form. Can't imagine the car will attract a big audience with this kind of modification done to it.
