Hi there. Owned a mk5 gti a decade ago, looking to get back in with a R. Will post a separate WTB soon.

Forum only readable to users
The server is being hammered again by crawlers, we are seeing tens of thousands of "users" online. Rather than give up and take the whole thing offline, I've switched it over so users must be logged in to even read the forum. I've also removed the ads completely once you're logged in since they are now basically worthless and annoying.
It's not ideal, but it keeps things online for now until I work out a better approach.

Hi and welcome......or perhaps welcome back to the land of VW. Are you looking for a Mk6 or Mk7 R?

Personally I think the Mk6 is a better drivers car than the Mk7, but the Mk6 is getting old and most have been modified and had multiple owners by now. It will be hard to find a nice example that has been well looked after and doesn't have 200,000km + on it.Originally posted by Kurvekurve67 View PostThanks for the reply. Prefer 7 but would consider 6.
Plenty of Mk7's around though. I'd say 85% of them are DSG, so if you want a manual it will take a bit of searching to find a decent one. Join a couple of the Facebook groups (eg GTI and R Owners Club Australia, Eurocruisers etc) there are always people advertising cars for sale.
