Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I hope to be a MK3 VR6 owner very soon. I inspected and drove one today, and was impressed with the handling and braking abilities!
The one I inspected is located in Melbourne. It's auto, which is preferable for me because I can't control myself in a manual.
I like hardcore, hip hop, pop punk and post punk when it comes to music, as well as all the sub-genres you can think of.
Anybody else with an auto MK3 VR6? Things to look out for?
Hey Mate,
i also have an Auto MK3 VR6 - the only drama i have had (so far) is:
Starter Motor - Replaced
ABS & Handbrake Light comes on, turns off sometimes?
Apart from that, it runs ok

Welcome mate,
I think I recognise you from JDMST, good to see you're looking at a VR6, they sound so hot, must get a nice sounding exhaust for it when you get it.Mk3.Mk4.Mk1

I plan on selling the MX5 and replacing it with the VR6.
The wheels on the MX5 are 4x100, +35 actually. Maybe a Golf driver would be interested in them.
By the way, I would stick with a manual...Auto's are the worst things out...Just my opinion though."If can't get behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them..."

I was expecting to get **** about wanting an auto.
This is about as sensible and boring a car that I will ever own I think. I'm sick of manual cars. I can't behave behind the wheel of a manual, and have found it's easier to in an auto.
I want a car that I can always be bothered with, hence auto/power everything/five doors/something slightly different/comfort.

PICKING UP VR6 TOMORROW NIIIIIIGHT!
Started working on the Mercedes. Working on getting the heater out to give it a flush. Looks like that will sit unfinished for a while.
Any tips for servicing an auto VR6? I will give it a massive refreshment of everything I can tomorrow night probably.
