Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey Mate,
Easiest way is in the area where you enter your signature select the text that you want to change the colour (i'm guessing red in SI) and then select the colour you want to change it to from the drop down box next to the text sizes drop box.
Hopefully that's enough info for you. If not shoot me a pm and I'll step you through it in more detail.
    Cheers,
    Trent

Alternatively you can put the tags manually around the text. Click on edit in your first post above and look at how they are entered [ color=red ]SI[ /color] without the spaces.

I have already tried both of those methods and they dont work for me. The sig control panel does not have the advanced editing features even though I have enabled them for regular editing. I have also just added the html tags in my sig and at least from where I am looking in chrome it does not work for me.Tags show but red does not. Also tried it in IE too. Only thing I can think of is that perhaps I am being restricted due to my newby status. Below the Signature entry box where it says Signature Permissions everything is set at NO. Other vBulletins I use let me do this.

Ok. Have you enabled the full WYSIWYG option in your user options.

In your User CP go to "Edit Options" and then scroll down to "Miscellaneous Options" and ensure for your "Message Editor Interface" that "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" is selected from the drop down box. Save this and see how you go then.

Also check your "Visible Post Elements" up the top a bit further don't know if it's part of the issue you're having but make sure the "Show Signatures" check box is selected.

If this doesn't fix it for you I'll pass this along to an admin for you to see what the problem is. I'm using chrome quite happily and I've had no issues with this kind of thing with Firefox or IE either.

          Cheers,

YES I have definitely full WYSIWYG set and also "Show Signatures" is checked in user control panel.

If I look below the signature Edit window I see the following which I cannot change:
            Signature Permissions
            Allow BB Code No
            Allow HTML No
            Allow Smilies No
Can Upload Images for Signature No
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No

If I look at another vBulletin board I frequent where WYSIWIG in sigs works for me I see

            Signature Permissions
            Allow Basic BB Code Yes
            Allow Color BB Code Yes
            Allow Size BB Code Yes
            Allow Font BB Code Yes
            Allow Alignment BB Code Yes
            Allow List BB Code Yes
            Allow Link BB Code Yes
            Allow HTML No
            Allow Image BB Code No
            Allow Code BB Code Yes
            Allow PHP BB Code Yes
            Allow HTML BB Code Yes
            Allow Quote BB Code Yes
            Allow Smilies Yes
Can Upload Images for Signature Yes
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No

My guess is it is need to be activated by admin or perhaps it happens automatically once a person has been signed up for period? Anyway it is quite trivial and not important . But thanks for your help.

That's alright. I know admin have played around with the status'/permissions for new users in the last 24 hours so it might be that. I've passed it on up the line so we'll see what we get back.

Just though I'd cover all the basics first. You never know what the user level is like however you seem to be pretty on the ball.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
