  • Mk III Cabriolet Owner

Hello you lot,As you can see I have a Golf III. I changed from a 2(another cab) to get the bigger motor and power steer.
Its a good car all round and handles anything I dish up to it. I love cabriolets cause they're like little utes! I have shocked a few people with what I can fit in it.
I was in England a while ago and hired a Golf 5 with that Fab new auto box. I would love one of those in my car,can it be done? anybody know?
I would love to hear any suggestions as to how to improve performance a bit,its all bog stock at present but getting a bit tired.
The car is a bit thirsty what sort of ks/litre should I be getting?Look forward to some words of wisdom.

Mine does 7.5-8.5L/100ks despite being well overdue for a service.

The best way to go faster (or even at all fast) seems to be to drive off the edge of a very tall vertical cliff - or to do an engine swap. No doubt you could even do one from a MkV with the DSG gearbox - 2.0T would be good, but then you'd need brakes, exhaust, suspension, etc etc.

The other direction might be to buy a 2 seater convertible (mentioning no names) or an Eos, but for me, I need the back seat for my dog and I can't afford an Eos. So I'll be sticking with the Golf and all its faults along with a K&N filter and maybe a bigger exhaust when this one wears out, plus maybe some handling bits.
