After taking advantage of the VW buyback, selling back our 2014 tdi manual trans Passat in 2017, we are now into a 2015 tdi GSW. Again, manual trans in "S" trim. Bought sight unseen on Ebay based on seller's description and shipped from Philadelphia, the car arrived with lots of undisclosed problems. Hoping there will be help here dealing with some of those, especially "Component Protection is Active." Past experiences with VW dealers have not been good (fraud). Determined to service the Golf myself. Can't trust the local dealer to change the oil correctly. Often think about the air-cooled VWs I've owned over the years; the '64 Bus engine I rebuilt and the good times I had driving around the country. No computers to worry about then.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
