Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hiya. Intro time..

Picked up a low 27000km MY15 Tiguan 132tsi today, 1 owner, service history etc. Very clean car, drives beautifully. Grey, stock.

Had an R32 RB26dett & highly modified Stagea in the past, and reckon this Tig will do me well. Wanted a turbo SUV that I fit into (6ft8") and slowly do some minimal mods over the coming years.

Will research into adding an hardpipe intake system into stock airbox with K&N panel (removed snow guard), turbo inlet pipe, exhaust downpipe to stock cat-back, and maybe IE Integrated Engineering ecu tune system with a DSG tune to suit at some stage way down the track. Also definitely after a tow bar and R-Line steering wheel with paddle shift, and awaiting hex-can dongle to read error codes.

All in good time, hopefully it'll be a pleasant ownership experience. Anyway, hoo'roo, off for a Hills drive tonight!

Congratulations and welcome. There’s a fair bit you can do to these cars to increase performance. Many Mk6 Golf parts are interchangeable which increases your options.

Biggest bang for buck is a stage 1 tune. Air intake is really just for whooshy noises.

Cheers. Will look into underbonnet temps a bit as the plastic air intake gets bloody hot towards the turbo...
1st mod will be brake Speedbleeders tho
