Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Hello everyone in here!

    Hello Everyone,

Thank you for allowing me to join your forum. I look forward to exchanging information, losses and wins as we all work on our projects.

I grew up in South America where Volkswagen are cheap and cheerful as they were made in Brazil. I have loved VWs for most of my life (went through a Toyota phase) and always had a healthy like for cars. Now in my forties my wife convinced me to get a project car like I always wanted. I opted to get something cheap so that I could pull it apart and learn as I go.

My budget was $500 so I took to CarSales where I found my 2001, 6N2 Polo. I bought it with a snapped timing belt just over a year ago. Unfortunately I have not been able to make the time to work on it but I am now getting back on track and look forward to learning a lot, hopefully as cheaply as possible.

Anyway, thank you for reading my essay of an introduction. See you around!
Finally doing something about my love for VW Hatch Back, it is NEVER too late to start.
Working...
