Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Welcome Back - I suppose?

    Hi all!

    I’m Tom, from Brisneyland

Pretty happy to be back on the forums after a decent hiatus (work/life etc).

Bit of a brief overview of my VW history:
    2011 mk6 GTI (Manual)
    2012 mk6 GTI (Manual)
    2017 Tiguan 162TSI Sportline
    2019 Tiguan Highline
    2019 Polo GTI (AW/DSG)

Loved my mk6s, both were in white and both were a lot of fun. Sold the first to move overseas and the second to buy the Tiguan for work.

First tiggles had to be replaced because of irreparable DSG issues and the second was sold because I changed jobs!

    Absolutely LOVING the Polo GTI
    - Reef Blue
    - Luxury Pack
    - Driver Assistance

A bit of history already with this car:
    - New strut bearings (squeaky noise from front of car)
    - 2x New Tyres (wobble in steering)
    - Balance and Alignment (from dealer it was shocking)

Other than that it’s a dream boat!

    Looking forward to getting involved!

Welcome back! I always find it interesting to see peoples’ car ownership history (mine below). I love my R on the weekend but the Polo is so much easier to park. How do you find it compared to the Tiguan?
