Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Timing Belt Kit

    Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a water pump kit and timing belt kit for a 2013 Golf7 103TSI - preferably German manufacture. Any clues? Dealer prices are a bit over the top!

I can't even get straight answers from Dealers on the price of this kit. Some are quoting a price inclusive of the 105km service, some are quoting price of timing belt only and then asking for a service on top, some are quoting the cost of the timing belt and a water pump. As we know the water pump and its accessory belt are on the opposite end of the block and the pump would not necessarily have to be changed with the timing belt. I have been quoted $1230 for 105km service inclusive of timing belt and water pump belt through to $1600 for the service and timing belt only. Water pump prices have varied hundreds of dollars between dealers also. I would be greatly appreciative if any one can shed light on what exactly does or does not need to be done and what the ball park pricing is. The dealers themselves don't seem to know what they are quoting on, and all claim to be reading from a volkswagen website and that price is set by the manufacturer.
