Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Greetings from Adelaide

Hi all. I’m joining the Dub Club next week when I pick up my new white Polo GTI 2.0. After a decent line of quick cars I jumped onto fast bikes for a while, but I’ve grown tired of having to dress up just to go for a head-clearer. Definitely time to get back into something with doors and a roof

I’m hoping there is a good enthusiast community over here, so any pointers would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    Welcome to VWW.

There’s certainly a good local crowd for you, although I don’t know most of them as it’s been about 4.5 years since I rocked up to an event and I’m about to move again

Keep an eye on the social threads and good luck with the Polo, the new model looks great.

Yes you're more than welcome to come out to some events. Usually things will get posted up here: Adelaide: Monthly Coffee and Drive Meet - Discussion Thread

There's also quite a few VW guys that turn up at cars and coffee events at Unley and Blackwood once a month. Feel free to come along and introduce yourself.

Sounds good Dutch and tigger, will check the appropriate threads here. I’ll look out for the cars and coffee meets as well, I’m sure details are online somewhere

You sound like me! I had quickish cars for a bit then got bikes and ditched cars altogether for a while and commuted on a few quite nice bikes but now I just cbf and am looking at getting back into cars again.

New Polo GTI is pretty high up my option list but you might like to also consider something like a near new Octavia RS 169. Even hugerer value for money

Edit: Just remembered you said picking up... So ignore the Skoda bit lol.

VW dealer is closer Duane. Never underestimate the power of laziness

Having said that, when the wife’s Kuga comes due for replacement the Octavia wagon and Karoq are on the list of possibles.
