I have a clubman licence and timer from time attack. Maybe 20 participants for 10 laps might be better to get a bit more track time???

Just my 2 cents here.
I would reccomend tagging along with the Lotus Club when they hold their first Short Track event for the year (probably March or so)before organising a VW specific one.
I believe they have a larger group (30-40) which spreads the cost a bit more and everyone gets about 5 laps each.
While it doesn't sound like a lot if you do one of these events every 2/3 months it gives you a good baseline to work with and it only costs $50 per car instad of $100.
The only issue I see is geting 20+ people dedicated enough to attend these with pre-payment a month or two in advance.
If we can only get 10-15 people its better value to just do sprints which you can do as it also requires a ASAA licence and a helmet (timer optional)
So joining in to the Lotus Club short track event and seeing how they run it for the first one of the year and working out how many people from VWW actually turn up might be a good indicator without the financial stress on you as the organiser.
P.s. is a helmet also required and do they provide catering for the cost?

I'm still keen for this
If we are running low in numbers I have a friend that said they may be keen on something like this. Although he has a Lancer (not an Evo, but a normal one) so not a Euro. Would he be allowed to attend?
Also regarding helmets, are open-faced helmets allowed?sigpic TRADED THE BEE'12 Sport Yellow/Black Citroen DS3 DSport THP155 6-spd manual w/ tech pack.

Check out timeattack if you're also interested in track work. There's 4 of us who do it and plan to complete the 2015 season. First one at Lakeside is 7th March. There's also sprints which are less serious, typically more street car oriented.Originally posted by lacisnot View PostIf it was a regular thing, I'd be keen to pay in advance. Would love to get some regular track time.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII

TimeAttack is that what you're talking about?
Unfortunately I can only do weekends. Is it possible to participate inthe timeattack on Saturdays only?

I'll be heading to QR on Sunday 25th for General Practice to give the car a run down. Not sure if I'll do morning or afternoon session, probably arvo as I'm expecting less cars.
I'll start a thread in the motorsport section so I don't dilute this thread. Ask any questions.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
