  • Sydney Torana Club Cruise

My wife was having a Baby shower today so one of my mates asked if I wanted to come on a cruise. Being an older crowd they don't drive as spirited as on some of our cruises... although that may have something to do with the some of the 5 figure price tags attached

There are other subtle differences too. Todays cruise to Berrima started with a meet at 8am with a schudled 8:30 departure. 8:35 and everyone was in their cars and leaving.

There was only one stop on the way to pick up some people from the Canberra Torana Club (or something like that), otherwise it was a nice drive up all the back roads to Berrima followed by a nice lunch at the local pub there.

For a rainy cold day it was a very nice cruise. I met some good people who are right into modding and/or restoring. Nice to talk to talk to people who, while they are focused on a different make and range of models, are still more than willing to talk shop and share ideas and experiences.

    For those interested, some photos:

    And the non Torana Parking:

Good to see some of the VW crew mixing it with other club's & make's of car's.
It's actually pretty good getting out & mixing with other's.

Really love the LC GTR's & LX SS Hatchback Torana's. If only I knew back then, what I know now, I would have brought some cheap Torana's.

        Like this, for example.

The one on the right reminds me of one of those "drifting" machines.
