  • QLD Brisbane Dyno Day Results

Ok Guys heres what we all been waiting for. Before i start if there is anything wrong please PM me and ill fix it up. For all those that have mods that arent listed please PM me also and ill ad them in.

Please feel free to post up your individual dyno results. To note the 2 S3's werent run fully as the dyno operator was worried about them running lean. This is the way it is. They felt it was unsafe so they werent willing to risk it.

Please only friendly banter. Its a dyno and not every one is the same, they are not the be all and end all of results.

yeah cheers shaneth, was a good day.

Jasn, you left too early, with just an APR chip i hit 122.2kw at the wheels.

NOTE: please keep in mind people that it seemed as though the dyno was running low figures today. we had a modded HSV GTS pulling 256kwatw. do the figures and that makes 307kw at the fly....same as standard.

all in all was still good fun.. i was stoked to get up a bit over a Golf R32. yeeeww!

well done to eddy and ralph pulling some good figures

i will be changing my signature when i get the chance....don't worry

So yeah not a bad day. Good to meet some people finally and put some names to faces. Good stuff.
So yeah my results... Can't say I'm too over the moon with them. From a quoted 177kW at the flywheel, I ended up with 122.1kW at all four wheels. So yeah that's a 31% loss through the Haldex system.

Some people seemed to be a bit down on what they were expected/ran before while others were very pleasantly surprised. That's all I'll say for now, I'll let others post their results and comments.

Photo wise I got some good photos of the Ferrari and a few others but I've only had the new camera for three days so most of the photos I took turned out pretty crap.

A big thanks to Shane (shaneth) and Simon from Oz Mazda Club for organising today.

haha, sorry, i though you said you got 121kw....my bad

shaneth, i thought for RWD cars you give a 20% alteration through the drivetrain.

Well, Mate it depends who you talk to from what i seen its closer to 25%, but i could be wrong. I have though talked to a mate who is a dyno operator as well. There is always debate about this. Every car is different and mine is a general equation but hey you could be right.

this is what i think but closer to the higher end of the range.

                    FWD is typically 10-15%.
                    RWD is typically 18-25%.
                    AWD is typically 20-30%.

Having said that if you wanna have this conversation pm me mate.

no all good shaneth, i've got no text book with the actual answer ... i just heard along the line that front are 15%, rears are 20%, and all fours are 25%. like you said though, all cars are different. comparing that to your workings it sounds good to me though....close enough.

i'm happy to go with the upper percentage anyway

BTW, has anyone got any pics they can post up of the day, or can send me....CHEERS

Looking at your car Shane (88kw) which is basically stock, the conversion was closer to 20% for the Polo's today.

                            88kw atw = 80% of 110kw

Looking at Rhys' 122.2kw atw = 80% of 152kw (which is what a chipped only Polo GTI should do)

Also seems most of the FWD's were returning lower than seen on other Dyno's but as you said, no 2 dynos will ever return the same result.

Was a good day though, Thanks for organising.

ryan in the case of mods maybe they arent the best mods going

as for the drive train loss take mine for example of 120 now divide that by 85 and times by 100 to get my actual flywheel figure which is 141
