    I'm running the stock Polo GTI on the day (and first time on a race track).
    There is an area up near the parking spot that you could store things but it is out in the open.
    I don't think the spare is going to make that much difference that you would actually see on these events so i wouldn't worry about it.

    My only tip is to empty the car of any loose items like receipts, bags etc as it can start to fly around the car if you have the window open.
    Also, wash the car before you come.

          Thanks guys - appreciate the feedback. It will be my first time on a track as you can probably tell! Will definitely get any loose stuff out of the car and will give her a polish for less wind resistance

          What sort of tyre pressure do you recommend running? I'm currently about 38psi for daily driving on stocko Conti's.

            I and the QR director of operations recommend 4-6 PSI more than your stock inflation all around. This is to prevent the bead on your street tyres from shearing off the rim during high-speed cornering. You need your sidewalls to hold up. Just don't go over your max. cold inflation pressure.

              I used to run 36 for street and figured that would do at Happy Laps.
              Dialed it up to 42PSI the morning of the event and it makes a noticable difference.

              Having said that, my car is a lot heavier than the polo is.
              My Tiguan TSI APR Stg2 + RPF1's

                I run 42 street on the Golf R, 46 track. This is set in the morning in the garage without letting the sunlight in and without moving the car.
                When I ran the Polo TDI on track, I set cold pressures to 42 front / 40 rear, which worked a treat. <-- that was on ContiSportContact 3 with max cold inflation of 50 PSI.

                    Nice one. I've seen a few posts indicating that people are running slightly higher pressure on the front - I might consider doing the same.

                      The rears don't experience the same forces as the front, but I did it that way because stock settings say more PSI up front for an unladen car. I just increased the pressure the same amount (6 PSI) all around, which is why there's a difference. When the car's full of people and luggage, the settings actually indicate that the rears should have more air than the front.

                            Stock polo on conti's 40-42psi is sweet spot for enthused driving. The conti is quite soft in the side wall, but at happy lap speeds it's not a problem at all. Your car won't miraculosuly have more grip being on a track than the street, so build up your pace gradually as you learn each corner, the appropriate line and your ability/confidence. Happy laps is the prime event to take your time and progressively build that knowledge.

                                Current - 2015 Tiguan 155 R-Line.
