um is it just me or do people go to a car show to see standerd cars, might aswell all just go meet up at at chatswood classic cars to see std cars.... fair enough if its a oldschool beetle or golf but if we are just putting cars in the show to make up numbers might aswell ask vw australia to attend. sorry just my 2c

I know I had a similar discusion with the Mleb guys after DOVW last year. There was clearly a winner in the standard Mk5 category. I'd say it's even harder to win because you realy are being judged like a true show car on how spotless the car is expected to be. We are talking tooth brush and elbow grease squeaky clean.

i know what you mean im not trying to start anything, BUT what if 300 std mk5 golfs rocked up i just cant see the point of having a std class for mk4 or mk5 just no point imo. sorry again .

I really hope i can bring my mk2 turbo this year as i have done a heap of work to it since last entered years ago but i fried my new clutch and have been waiting for a new 6 puck race cluth from the states for a month+ I will enter my A4 if i dont get my clutch by this Friday..... Ill pay on the day.

I agree with the point, but as Neil says, it becomes about fit an finish, fit is pretty much right, but finish can make the difference. Does the undercarriage gleam?!! etc

If we get to a point where we have tooo many really stock cars things may need to change. How many were there last year? How many are expected this year.

undercarraige is not judged for us watercoolers.we didnt think it was relevent to us last year and im sure loon left it off this year as well.

Just to keep things all together as I think a few good points have been raised.

I'm not 100% sure if undercaridge has been ruled out this year. Perhaps Matt could double check and get back to us. Even if it wasn't part of the judging criteria, it could still be the sole difference between 1st and 2nd especialy within the standard cars.
