    • I will have a nice list of rules for everyone to play safe that i will require each driver to initial on their name so we can ensure people have read the rules for each event.

        Good idea Clay.

Let's hope no one drives like an ignorant d***head and passes on the inside at corners.

        • I heard and know some drivers who have complained about that particular driver in that dark car, for not having sufficient track ettiquette.

But i am sure he loves his car so much and should try test n tune. Fits him well.

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML)? That's nothing to laugh at.

              • a clip from the stone age...

watch at 1:41. the black car was not innocent either. the mirror must be missing.

the white car was right behind its black ass for 2 full laps prior to the saga at 1:30.

                the options were:

                1. brake a bit hard so the silver S3 (who was also getting ready to overtake the black golf) faced a risk of kissing the poor man's golf.

                2. speed up to avoid both.

                of course, a poor's man K03 Golf can't compete with a rich's man $60k K04 Golf on the main straight, that's a fact

these days I take Happy Laps easy. when I want to go serious, I go with BMW Track Day / Timeattack Track Day, where drivers are grouped according to their skills. plus drivers with bad track etiquette do get warned and / or moved to slower group.

I'm surprised someone suddenly got ''excited' with Clay's plan to get ppl to sign off.

Post # 140 was for the benefit Happy Lap drivers with less powerful cars but who enjoy corners. We have had issues in the past with white Supra, V8 Commo and etc.. so let's hope it won't happen again to keep our VWWatercooled HL reputation good, safe and enjoyable.

                NO 2 WAR

                World Peace!

                • The onus is on the overtaking car to do so safely.

I extended the hand of friendship via this PM to you in May last year. Isn't it time to put this behind us?

Safe and courteous (therefore predictable) driving should in no way be treated lightly as there is still the potential for serious injury and damage even though it's caled happy laps.
I have seen the aftermarth of the honda club morning at lakeside and it was not pretty.
Luckily we have only had one single car incident and nothing more serious.

As an aside, it looks like QR/Lakeside are reviewing their processes so i am not sure how many more of these we will be able to run

A few of us did the Renault happy laps at QR last weekend and had a few ordinary experiences with drivers not checking mirrors or drag racing down the straights and not allowing a safe pass (for me it was non Renault drivers, they were all sufficiently considerate). It was an unfortunate encounter with you and Nat and I'm sure lessons learnt for both, though by sharing hopefully others can learn from a safe distance rather than on track

                          • Howdy, Clay can you please offer my spot to someone on the reserve list? I did laps at QR last weekend so happy to forfeit this to give some else a run. I'll still come along for a looksy (no breakfast) as I have to be up the coast anyway. If there's spare capacity on the day I'm happy to make up numbers or ride co-pilot.

Could you put my name down on the reserve list please?
