Sydney -> GC / Brissy

Doing the trip next weds or thurs - Want to stop at Coffs for abit.

Will be going with 7 mates in 2 cars, me and a mate driving.

Any tips / routes ?

Havent decided if we're going to leave Wednesday arvo or v.early Thursday morning (~4am) then come back Sunday night or Monday morning.

With a pregnant wife and a 3 year old we did the trip in just under 12 hours (Campbelltown to Surfers). Did it in the same time on the way back too.

We left at 3:00 - 3:30am to miss all the traffic getting across Sydney. (That and it ment that the little one would sleep for a few hours in the car).

If I can recommend anything, it's to get a GPS nav thing. I have just upgraded my old unit to a Navman S30 and have to say its great. I payed $310 for mine and think it's worth every $$. It shows fixed speed cameras, red light camera and shows you where to go, something that is great for me with little sense of direction.

Either way, Highyway 1 all the way. The coast road beats the inland road. At the moment there is only one real patch of roadwork otherwise it's all smooth sailing. Just a shame we have the 110 Speed limit and not the old 120
