Nah, from Homebush (notorious and undisputed king of meet up spots) to Wollongong... not that far.
Kangaroo Valley is a little longer, a bit further down into the South Coast.
I was looking through performance VW mag... the thought of having many a mint v-dub within the same area makes my pants do a little dance.
