So....as the 7 of us sat there on the coffee night and ate good pizza...
We all agreed that driving our beloved cars once every 2 months simply wasnt enough.

You know you can drive them in-between times

We concluded that we want to run monthly cruises so we can get out more often.This also gives everybody a better chance to partake in more meets.A new thread can be started if someone's willing.

Well Adam and I only started the bi-monthly cruise and alternate coffee thing because nothing was happening in SA and we were sick of seeing everyone enjoying themselves in other parts of the country.

I'd actually be in favor of having an alternate "short course" (early start, back home by 10:30-11am) and "long course" (drive somewhere for lunch) type format.

Open to suggestions and feel free to organise something and invite everyone else along

It was pretty much about wanting to get together more often and also do a bit more group cruising/driving.We figured we'd set dates and times so if people couldn't make it then there was always one in another 3 weeks.

Yeah if you miss one cruise then it's like 4 months between drives.... tell me about it!!!

Thats it.Thats why we are setting up a monthly cruise . It's not compulsory of course but as stated gives everyone more opportunities to get out and enjoy themselves

Well, there's nothing stopping us from trialling the first Sunday of each month as the cruise day (as opposed to the first Sunday of even months as it is presently). Really the only issue is that it may detract from the dinner/coffee nights on the first Wednesday of odd months - although these aren't usually very busy and tend to be more of a 'regulars' thing anyway.

I'm happy for us to give it a go for a few months and see how it affects turnout etc. If overall turnout drops then we might just need to make the 'alternate' cruise something a bit more informal. We can continue to discuss cruise routes and activities in this thread; if at some point it's getting a bit unwieldy I can close this one off and create a new one.

I'll update the sticky now. Next month's cruise is as per the existing schedule anyway.

I was going to suggest that moving the meets to monthly may get you some attendance fatigue problems, however, the short/long format is a great idea to trial.

I should come out to the coffee meets more, I have been slack. I'll try to make the next one as well as the cruise. I have amazing tyres on now, I have no excuse.

See thats our point Jakeys.....People cant make it sometimes so if there is twice the opportunity to have a catch up then it works for everyone

Its by far not compulsory....so its up to the individual.

I've just discovered a bit o an oversight in our monthly cruise dates.... next cruise is scheduled for Easter Sunday.

So do people want to shift it forward (to next weekend) or back a week?

I wouldnt mind coming for the next cruise, so I'll vote shift from Easter Sunday.

And yeah, Id be keen on more regular drives even though it may split us up a bit, at least if you miss one its not ages til the next one.

I'm not fussed if we cruise on Easter Sunday personally - it's right in the middle of a four day weekend so people should have plenty of time free, and (I assume) most people don't have any specific celebrations on... but maybe I'm wrong.

I'd prefer not to move the cruise forward a week, as that's cutting the notice a little fine (and it's also the day before I'm picking up my new car! ). But if the consensus is to move it to April 12th, I'm fine with that.

So speak up people.

Easter Sunday is all about the kids for me so that's out, and the following Sunday is my birthday.

Only problem with Easter weekend is more people on the road... And more fuzz watching them. On the 29th there is a SAHH cruise planned to visit Mt Alma - we could tag along?

This is why we are saying if you cant make a particular cruise/meet then at least there's another one next month.
