Adelaide: Monthly Coffee and Drive Meet - Discussion Thread
She has a contraption that has a steering wheel on it (thinking of whether to swap it over for a MFSW) so she's getting practice, but given her propensity to be distracted by munching on her hand I'm not sure whether it's wise.
This is Junior Dubber's next ride, right?
And this is her grabbing some much-needed refreshment from her preferred local:

Won't be making it to cruise, my engine blew up last night, I was in 3rd close to redline, then bang!!! For about 30seconds The darkness of onetree hill road was no more. Thought I was going to watch her burn. Later upon inspection Saw that cylinder and rod punched a hole through bottom of the sump.

DAMN!
Stage 3 is getting to that point where you need a strengthened bottom end and internals, but you don't hear about this sort of thing happening too often. Such bad luck mate. Hopefully the rebuild won't be too exxy. Look on the bright side - this is an opportunity for you to go for bulletproof internals and chase even more power - if that's your bent!
What sort of tune was it (which company) and who tuned it?
I was certainly surprised by the result from your jetta on the weekend.
Could be a multitude of reasons for the blockbuster, but out of curiosity what were your AFR's like on the dyno sheet after Saturday's run? And what sort of boost level was it running?

Good afr 12:1. And about 22 pounds boost, I'm running everything APR, I was very surprised

If it was running lean and hot you'd expect to see detonation, loss of compression, piston damage, blown turbo etc, and not rod/crank damage (unless there was oil starvation happening maybe). The good AFR backs this up. 212fwkw is a lot of power for the stock internals, and a huge hike from factory. Hopefully when it's stripped down the ultimate cause will be found... maybe a manufacturing defect?
Good luck with the rebuild mate - I'm sure you'll get it back to health again soon.
