How about changing things up a bit and having a start point at Brighton?

We can maybe get some good shots with everyone parked along the esplanade before we head off.

This route takes in a few more secondary roads (yes they're all sealed): Brighton Jetty Café to Normanville via Clarendon, Kangarilla and Myponga Reservoir

That's a great idea Damien, and a great route too. Only thing is we likely won't be able to park our cars together in a decent spot along the waterfront unless we meet some distance from the jetty, as by 9:30 it'll probably be choccas down that way. Having said that, June 1 is the first day of winter, but I think it'd still be a struggle.

We could potentially park out front of the Seacliff hotel for some photos, after coffee at Brighton but before we head off on the cruise proper.

If someone with a good camera opts to sit back and do photo duties a line of VWs across the top of Myponga Reservoir could be a very striking shot.

By all accounts you'll have the same issues outside Seacliff Hotel even on 1 June though; as its the end of the Esplanade its a popular start point for walking/running/cycling.

Any of these spots are good though, I can catch a bit more sleep.

LOL - the car seat hasn't been installed into the GTI yet so Junior Dubber will have to chill at home, although by the time of the cruise it should be in.

Adam, see those headlights and big beam? Clearly this drawing is of xenons and not $%^# VW halogens.

I also noted the fire coming out the exhaust so clearly running a catless straight through system.

Like this route and close to home for me. Hope the weather is kind for the first day of winter.

Agree that we will not be able to park together for a photo anywhere near the Brighton jetty and perhaps after coffee we can find a spot together for photos on the Esplanade close to Seacliff.
